The dolphin and sea lion shows were lots of fun. My 9 year old autistic granddaughter loved the shows! We also appreciated the sensory time from 9-10. Wish it were two hours long, but we enjoyed our hour of calmness.

Georgia Aquarium FAQs

What time does Georgia Aquarium open and close?

It is open 365 days a year, but the hours move around through the year rather than sitting at one fixed schedule. Entry stops half an hour before closing, so check the date you are visiting before you head over.

When is the best time to visit?

The aquarium recommends planning around the morning or evening. Summer and the holiday season are the busiest periods. If you want things calmer, low-sensory hours run daily until 10 AM with low lighting and minimal music.

How long should I plan to stay?

Most guests spend two to four hours. Allow nearer four if you want to see all six galleries properly and sit in on the dolphin and sea lion presentations.

Does the ticket include the animal presentations?

Yes. The dolphin and sea lion presentations are part of general admission. Seats fill up, so reserve them early in your visit rather than turning up at showtime.

Can I leave and come back the same day?

Yes. Get your ticket stamped before you walk out and you can return later the same day. Worth knowing if you want to eat somewhere in the Centennial Park district and come back.

Is there parking?

There is a 1,600-space aquarium parking deck on Luckie Street NW. It is cashless, and there is a 6 ft 8 in height limit at every entrance, so tall vehicles will not fit. Accessible spaces are on Level 3.

Can I take photos inside?

Cameras are fine for personal use. Flash is not allowed near some animals, and photography is off during the sea lion and dolphin presentations. Tripods, monopods, detachable lenses and other professional gear are not permitted.

Is this the venue's official website?

No. This website offers official tickets to Georgia Aquarium but is not the venue's official website.
